Start your search six to nine months ahead. Its best to start looking for your bridal gown at least six months in advance of the wedding. eight to nine months is even better.  Ordering and alterations can take four months or longer.

It's simply a matter of having the time and patience to find a beautiful dress at an even more beautiful price. Look for warehouse sales, clearances on discontinued styles, samples and overstocks. Start your search online at websites renown for featuring discounted quality items.

Once you find your dress it is suggested that you make the deposit with a credit card. Get an itemized receipt spelling out every detail (manufacturer's and design name, number, price, color and size) and stating that the deal is canceled if your dress isn't ready by a specified date. Get specific instructions for cleaning and storing the dress.
