Start your search six to nine months ahead. Its best to start
looking for your bridal gown at least six months in advance of the
wedding. eight to nine months is even better. Ordering and
alterations can take four months or longer. Keeping organized is important. In just a short time your
bound to have several pictures of dresses you like from bridal magazines, advertisements and boutique promotions.
That said set up a filing system for all your wedding arrangements.
We'll discuss how to start at the end of this article.
What Kind of Wedding Dress?
Much has to do with the theme of your wedding. By theme we mean
style and design as well as degree of formality. Formal evening
ceremonies call for a floor-length dress in varying light colors
such as ivory, cream, champagne and of course white is always
appropriate.
Formal weddings allow for a special
touch of elegance in the form of gloves, lengthy full veils and long
cascading gowns with train. Semiformal weddings allow for even more
colorful dresses in soft pastels with dress lengths from ballerina
length to floor length with a shorter veil. Trains are
optional.
For a second wedding the bride may choose a long or
mid-length dress. A classic pillbox hat with short veil will add
just the right touch .
Your dress should flatter your figure and compliment your taste.
Take time to ask friends and relatives who know style and know you
even better.
